Ramadhan With Lantern

During the holy month of Ramadan, the streets in Egypt at night decorated with colorful lanterns light the lanterns. Typical Egyptian lanterns called “Fawanees” or “Fanoos”  in local languages. 
Some stories about Fanoos tradition begins :
This tradition began when the Egyptians welcomed the Caliph Moezz God Eddin in Cairo in 969 when Ramadan takes place.
Some people say that the lanterns multicolored evolved since the days of Pharaoh. , For five nights, the ancient Egyptian society celebrate the birthday of five important deities with lit torches to illuminate the streets
Some argue that this tradition appeared in the days of Pharaoh and the celebration of the birth of the god Osiris ancient Egyptian god of death
Another opinion says that the lantern is derived from a Christmas candle lit by the Copts.
The most popular legend states that Fanoos tradition started when an Egyptian ruler named Al Hakim BiAmr Illah the 10th century ordered all priests to illuminate the streets of Cairo during Ramadhan
