Tabuik Of Pariaman

 

Tabuik a special festival in western Sumatra  in the city Pariaman which was held on 10 muharam hijiriah  in commemoration of Asyura day, the death of Imam Hussain,the grandson of Muhammad.This festival includes reenactments Battle of Karbala with played  tassa drums and Talempong (instrument of minang Kabau). Tabuik is the term for the bier is carried during the ceremonial procession Although beginning a Sunni Shiite ceremony.This festival began 10th of muharam since 1831.

This festival has left a tradition deeply embedded in society Pariaman because it is done with a variety of ritual. Tabuik shaped three-storey coffin made of wood, rattan,and bamboo. Tabuik is the main thing that paraded on the beach and then thrown into the sea. 

Tabuik Agency made a big horse-shaped,winged width,and headed beautiful woman with tress. Manufacture tabuik done from 1st to 9th Muharram by two community groups Pariaman that is the groups Market and groups Suberang.
